Searching With Phrases

The Verity search engine interprets any string of characters separated by spaces as a phrase. For example, to find pages about repetitive stress injury, enter this query:

shots/sea00011.gif

Tip

Be careful of phrase searches that contain the following words because they are operators in the Verity Query Language:

shots/sea90000.gif And: interpreted as the Verity Query Language AND operator

shots/sea90000.gif Or: interpreted as the Verity Query Language OR operator

shots/sea90000.gif Not: interpreted as the Verity Query Language NOT modifier

You can still search for phrases containing these words if you enclose them in double quotation marks. For example, the following query finds pages that contain the phrase recycle and reuse:

shots/sea00012.gif
